Summary of Page
The intention of this page is to help communicate to school admins what the parent portal contains and how to control the information displayed. On this page we will have screenshots of the Parent Portal as well as how to edit some of the links on the Admin portal. This is a very important KB to look over prior to opening the Parent Portal so that teachers and school admins are well aware on what to expect. To begin we will cover what information is available on the Parent portal.
Parent Portal Overview
The Parent portal is a web dashboard of what the parents can log in to see. Generally speaking the web dashboad will display the following:
- Student Grades
- Grade History
- Attendance History
- Student Class enrollments
- Setup for Email Notifications on Grades and Attendance
- Teacher Comments
- Most current ACT Summative Scores
- *optional* Re-Registration and Sibling Registration
One of the most commonly viewed pages on the Parent Portal is the "Grades and Attendance" page as well as the "Teacher Comments" page. All of this data is current grade data and will be made available immediately. Parents can view specific grade data as well on the "Grades and Attendance" page by clicking on the Letter Grade of A or B.
- Grades and Attendance Page
- Grade History (Stored Grades on Admin Portal)
- Attendance History (Meeting Attendance for current Year)
- Account Preferences (Change email, Change Username and Password, Add Students)
Admin Portal Controls
From the Admin portal, schools can control what links parents can access through the Parent/Student Access Page. Additionally the Grades and Attendance page can be limited to a specific term by modifying the Quick Lookup Preferences. Lastly the email notificaton data is controlled by the "Current Grade Display" page. Only the Active term is what is emailed in notifications to parents.
Mobile Settings
On the Admin portal schools can also limit the mobile app views. There is not a great amount of controls over the mobile app but there are some settings worth mentioning so that schools can limit data.
