NCEA Survey - Out of Parish Students - Alerts

Summary of page 

This page is intended to list out all of the students at your school that are Catholic but NOT a member of the school's parish.  The page will have a list of Parish names on the far left column under the label "Name of Parish".  On the far right column you will have the aggregigate number of students that match that EXACT name of parish.  If the Parish name happens to be misspelled or typed differently then it will appear as its own entry separate from the correctly named parish.  This page depends on correctly entered data for the following fields: 

• Religion (Catholic or NC)
• Parishioner (Y/N)
• No_Par (<name of parish>)

You will see some alerts show up on this survey screen if any of the above fields are left Empty or NULL.  This is meant to be there by design so that we can collect the most accurate survey data.  The alerts look something like the image below.

To Fix the Alert Messages

You will want to read the alert message to give you an idea of what needs to be fixed.  On this particular page there are going to be 3 fields that help control the 2 alert messages that show up.  Those fields are: 

• Religion
• Parishioner
• No_Par

These will need to be populated with some value in order for the message to clear.  The Out of Parish Students page does imply that these student's religion field is set to "Catholic".  You will only see a list of students that are A) Catholic and B) Not a Parishioner of the school's parish.  Any student that is set to "NC" or Not Catholic will not be included on this page.  

 

When you see the Alert Message of "There are students with NULL values for "Is This Family A Parishioner (Y/N)". Please correct this in Powerschool."

Here is how to fix that alert: 

 

1. On the Start Page, click in the search box type in: Religion = Catholic; Parishioner = 
2. Hit Enter or Search and this will bring back a list of students.
3. Click on the first student.
4. Navigate to Custom Screens
5. Click on Registration 2. Parent Info
6. Scroll to the bottom where you will see: Is This Family A Parishioner (Y/N)
7. You will need to select "Y" if the student is a member of the school's parish OR "N" if the student is a member of another parish.
8. Click Submit and move to the Next Student

When you see the Alert Message of "There are students with NULL values for "Parish Where Family Is A Member". Please correct this in Powerschool."

Here is how to fix that alert:

1. On the Start Page, click in the search box and type in: Religion = Catholic; Parishioner = N; No_Par=
2. Hit Enter or Search and this will bring back a list of students.
3. Click on the first student.
4. Navigate to Custom Screens
5. Click on Registration 2. Parent Info
6. Scroll to the bottom where you will see: Parish Where Family Is A Member
7. You will need to Enter the Name of the Parish that the student/family is a member of.
8. Click Submit and move to the Next Student.
